Bongoût Gallery is happy to announce "RE-MOLLUSK", extending the print-universe of Mollusk magazin
e into the 3D space of the gallery, and as such effectively is a physically present editorial content in the form of a group exhibition.
Over the past five years, Mollusk Magazine has been a platform for an exciting range of underground artists and established names, showing rare and surprising works over a variety of media and themes -- yet all bound together by what could be called the unmistakable "Bongoût" spirit.
Re-Mollusk evokes a world where everything is oblique: seemingly simple pictures are animated by a haunting immediacy. A mischievous subversion of the conventional and unorthodox techniques characterise the works of the participating artists [that represent as many facets of the Bongoût spectrum/universe]: charmingly naive takes on adult world (Kottie Paloma, Blexbolex) , playfully irreverent iconoclasm (Frodo Mikkelsen); a disquieting intrusion in an childlike world (Stu Mead, Bruno S.) , a charming innocence with dark overtones (Edouard Baribeaud, Gosia Machon), an ambiguous sense of melancholy that accompanies the complexity of personal memory (Barbara Breitenfellner).
